Who can Inspect your barrier
Once your swimming pool or spa has been registered, you need to arrange an inspection of the safety barrier to determine if the barrier is compliant with the applicable barrier standard.
An inspection of your pool or spa barrier can only be carried out by one of the following registered in Victoria with the Victorian Building Authority:
- a registered building surveyor
- a registered building inspector
- a registered building inspector (pool safety)
- a municipal building surveyor.
Inspectors from other states are not authorised to inspect Victorian safety barrier unless they are also registered in Victoria under the relevant applicable Standard for your pool or spa barrier.
